Hello! My name is Summer and I'm all about spreading sunshine. I think "those who bring sunshine to the lives of others cannot keep it from themselves" (James Barrie). My hope is to make the world a bit brighter by sharing happy, uplifting, and cheerful projects, words, and ideas.

I started blogging in 2008 mostly as a way to stay connected to my family in Texas while I attended college in Utah. In 2011, I opened an etsy shop, The Sunshine Space, selling painted canvases and stitched hand towels. In 2013, I decided to bring my project ideas, stories, and cute pictures of my family together in one place at www.thesunshinespace.com. In 2015, my husband (JD) and I started screen-printing my designs on t-shirts. Who knows what will come next?!

JD and I have two little ones- Tenley and Rhett. By day, I'm a recreational therapist; I love working with teenagers and really believe there's power in experiential learning. By night, I am a scrapbook enthusiast, an amateur seamstress, and a creative DIYer. I love board games, phone calls with my mom, Oreos with peanut butter, almost anything with polka dots, organizing, and engaging in meaningful conversations.
