Platinum summer.

JD's been selling alarms for a long time. summer 07 in Washington DC. summer 08 in San Antonio. summer 09 in Columbus. and.. we're going back to DC this summer 2010. The big difference is. . . drumroll. . . I'm selling too. Call me crazy. JD thinks I can't, so I'm out to prove I can. And I'm serious too because today I went to a training meeting. All by myself. JD was working. It was awkward and uncomfortable, seeing as I'm not the typical recruit. Married girl vs. mostly single boys. I was very lonely and it wasn't fun. But I did it, and I'm proud. And I'm excited because I'm gonna start training, and I'm gonna start knocking, and I'm gonna watch videos, and read books. And I'm gonna be the best married female sales rep that company has ever seen! Bring it on Platinum summer.
(Yay for a sales job bringing us together forever!)

Ps.

Ps. I didn't blog on Valentine's day because I was enjoying the short Vegas vacation with my cute husband and happy friends. Also, JD and I didn't get eachother anything... because, well, we didn't feel the need to spend our money on candy or flowers (I do love flowers though, just for the record).

Anyways. I didn't blog on Valentine's. Also, when my husband last read my blog, he informed me it was boring because there wasn't enough about him (he said this jokingly... I think?...)

But, in all seriousness, I would like to dedicate a somewhat-belated post to JD.

Thanks for taking care of me. Thanks for cleaning our house and making us dinners. Thanks for carrying the laundry down the stairs when I don't want to. Thanks for tucking me in at night. Thanks for being dedicated to your schoolwork. Thanks for making me laugh. Thanks for being a good sport when I win all the games we play.. ha. :) Thanks for playing games with me. Thanks for kisses.

I can't believe it's been a year since you proposed. I can't believe we've been married for 6 months. I can't believe we've got forever in our future.

I love you, sweet Valentine.

Dear Dear

Dear Holli,
Thank you for inviting me to run errands with you. I miss you.

Dear triplus fineliner pens,
Thank you for brightening my notes with your colors. I really enjoy having you.

Dear Kasidy,
Thank you for buying those pens at the bookstore and using them in history of creativity.. because it made me want them enough to buy them for myself.

Dear gym at the RB,
I've been giving you lots of love lately and you haven't been giving me anything back. What's the deal?

Dear primary songs,
I liked listening to you on Sunday with my hubby. Maybe we should play more often.

Dear empty fridge,
I promise we'll fill you up when we get back from our big trips. We just don't want anything to make you stink while we're gone.

Dear Robert's,
Please stop having so many cute things in your store that I want to buy.

Dear orange flowers in my kitchen,
You make me really happy and I'm so glad JD thought to buy you.

(Please excuse the syrup. We were having breakfast for dinner!)

Dear Vegas,
I am excited to meet you this weekend.

Dear big cozy bed,
I really enjoy you. I wish we spent more time together.

Dear journal,
I've been so much better at filling you in my life lately. I hope I can keep up the habit.

Dear stack of homework and reading,
I'm just not in the mood. Try again later.

Dear boilingpoint,
I miss you. Let's play this weekend, maybe?? :)

Dear Stefanie,
Your life right now is like dejavu. I don't know when you are getting married, but I'm secretly hoping it will be before May 4 so I can attend the celebrations.

Dear Mom,
I wish we lived closer.

Dear DC,
You will be our home for 4 months. I hope you've started planning some adventures for us!

Dear husband,
I miss you a lot. Can't wait to spend the weekend with you. Thanks for being your handsome self :)

Love,
Summer

Sisters

Sisters,

Come to Utah and play with me.

Saturday Night.

We craved soda.
We walked to the Maverick
and got ourselves the biggest
Dr.Peppers
they had to offer.

We came home and decided we wanted to go camping...

so we set up our tent in the living room.

And played Scrabble.

JD won...

but I still like him.

And our life together is really happy.

10 Things

10 Things That Made Me Really Happy This Weekend.

1. Phone conversation with old friend from high school... friend who made me feel like I've been genuinely missed. Thank you Samantha Hensley.
2. A clean and organized closet. A trashbag full of clothes to sister-in-law and a trashbag full for DI. The feeling of freedom. Of order. Of clean.
3. Spending time with a friend I never expected to make. Hello Laura! She's in some of my recreation classes and we interned together at Camp K. Who would've thought you could actually bond with someone you met in a class? She's the greatest. We made pesto chicken on Friday night and I ate with her and her husband because JD worked late. They're really nice to me :)
4. Vegetarian Pizza. So good.
5. Hot cocoa from original Minnie Mouse mug (thanks Larry and Steph for the Disney World souveneir).
6. Plans to travel to Vegas next weekend to see Kasidy and play with old roomies.
7. Camping indoors.
8. The Brazilian family who were visiting at church today. They were visiting their daughter and her husband, who just had their first baby. Today was fast and testimony meeting, which means anyone in the congregation can go to the pulpit and give a short witness of what they know is true. These people got up today and spoke such beautiful portuguese. Their son translated. It was the first time I have ever heard someone give their witness of the Gospel in another language. Unreal power of the Spirit of God.
9. The lesson on charity in Relief Society. I want to love like Christ did. I love 1 Corinthians.
10. Superbowl with JD's family.
